Wednesday 13th August.
I spent absolutely all day packing! Literally. I got up and had breakfast. Then I started packing. I packed the bag, un-packed it, packed it, tried it on, un-packed, packed it again, tried it on.... This continued for a good few hours. Then around about 5ish I was finished so I got changed and did my hair and make-up. Kieran came round about half six and took me back to his ready for a parttay.
Although turns out, there wasn't much of a party. His friend Farden + fiance Jonti came round, so did Sophie and Emma. Andddd of course Adam was there (as he lives there). Sophie and Emma left after a bit and the rest of us started playing on the playstation! Me and Jonti had loads of fun on EyeToy and Adam + Fard soon joined in. I sooo kicked Adam's arse on nearly everything! Me and Jonti generally kicked arse! Then Jonti and Farden left and till about midnight Me, Adam and Kieran played. That was a mistake! But anyhooo I got out my sleeping mag and crashed on Kieran's spare matress. Wasn't much of a party but was well fun anyway!

Thursday 14th August.
Woke up to Kieran playing Kaiser Chiefs. Na Na Na Na Naaaaa. I got very excited and tried to jump up off my matress but my muscles ached too much from Eye Toy the night before, so I just started singing really loudly to the music and Kieran started to and we were just singing to Kaisers for quite from seperate bedrooms. Quality. I got up and changed and all the rest of it, packed the last few thing into my bag and we set off! Kieran dropped me back home so I could wash my hair one last time (for 5 days !) while he met Darbs at Asda. They came back to get me and we drove off! There was alot of loud singing out the windows to bandss that weren't even gonna be there! Pretender by the Foo Fighters was done twice cos it was so much fun!

We got there after about 15 mins and no traffic, parked up on a random field and prepared ourselves for a longgg walk. Kieran had a sleigh with booze and barbeque tied to his jeans and we went to join the longgg queue. Sometime waiting in this queue it started to rain and thats when the Mr. Blobby mac made it's first appearence out. We cracked open a can of strongbow each and just stood there for about an hour. Some girls sold us some fake programmes for a fiver too! We were gutted when we found out they were fake!

Anyhoo we finally got through the bag search thing and headed off in the same direction as everybody else! My jeans kept slipping and kieran lost the sleigh a few times. But finally we stopped in the middle of this really random field while Kieran went to ticket exchange. Me and Darbs went when he came back and we grabbed our wristbands. We sat and waited for Fard and Jonti too as they were just coming through the drop-off point entrance. We went back to Kieran all together and headed for red campsite!

We walked straight past the toilets, then the next set, then the recharge point and we plonked next to a tree. Somewhere along the way Fard met two randoms who he met at a Foo Fighters gig a few months ago and told them to join our tent circle. So they did and they turned out to be proper legends! Soo after setting up tents I went for a sit down in Sam's big tent and Kieran joined. As people realised where we were they all came and sat in with us. We ended up bringing all the drink and the CD player in the tent and had a party in there whilst it rained a little bit. It was cool! When the rain stoped we all needed a pee so we went snd then we all went for a walk around the arena, grabbed some more drinks and went and relaxed in the tepee area! I had some noodles and they were gurddd. We then went back to our tent circle, played some music and just started drinking loads! Me and Darbs got really drunk and danced and singed for ages. We went for a walk in the arena then went back and singed and danced some more! Some time in the middle of this is a video of me and Kieran doing a dance that can be found on The Fresh Prince of Belair.... :D

Soo after this we decided to head off to the indie disco! It was amazing! I went on Fard's shoulders twice, we danced to some legendary songs, i got thrown into a mosh pit by accident and we met a random guy called Matt. He came back to our tent circle and the tents around us joined and there was alot of music and singing till very late. But I went to bed earlier than others. Butttt it was freezing! I was shivering, drunk, on my own and I needed a pee again! So at 3o'clock in my pj's i went for a walk to the toilets. There's some weird people about at three o'clock in the morning.

Friday 15th August.
I woke up feeling rough! Very rough! But still I slowly got up and got dressed and stepped into the morning glory of the red campsite. TBH there was just lots of crap everywhere. And loads more tents! Many people turned up at very early that morning to get good spots and so there was loads more tents. Anyhoo Kieran being a big loser was totally hungover. Slav and Mia had already turned up and I was off to meet Nat and Steve (the sister and her bf). At the same time as finding them I found Darbs with Emma, Sophie and Sophie's friend Anna.

They were all a bit peed off because Kieran was supposed to come find them all but he never did because he was too busy throwing up!!! Lightweight!!!! So yeah, not much happened during this day. It was mainly day of relaxation, eating, drinking did a bit of walking around. I did go and meet up with Bob and Steve though and we had a laugh. Then when I got back to the campsite, loads of people were walking past ready to start walking off to the Friday night Indie disco. It was then we saw these three men walk past in dresses! Sophie starting singing 'Do it like a lady!' and they started walking over to us! They were brilliant! Wasted of course- but brilliant! They'd got there dresses from the oxfam shop in the arena, and had flowers on their wrists. 'Flower Power!'.

Anyhoo they left and we went off to indie disco! We couldn't quite get in at first but we found our way in and basically told people, follow the light saber!

At the end we went back to the campsite but me and Kieran had to go find Sam, Lou and Lou's friends. So we went off and on the way saw a couple walking down the path in nothing but underwear. Kieran looked at me and said 'Steph, welcome to V Festival.' :D We did find sam and crew and we helped them with their stuff all the way back to the campsite. And we went to bed!!!

Staurday 16th August.
Putting on make-up really isn't easy with a crap mirror, with a can of strongbow in one hand and it being 9am ish in the morning.

I was gonna write about prom.....but I've kinda forgotten most of it now.
But the past few days have been brilliant!

On Sunday Me, Megg and Nessa decided to walk to Lilleshall and go up the monument. This one field had horses just out and free and we got really scared crossing it! We were so tired  by the time we got to the top, but had our little picnic at the top with sausage rolls! We talked about loads and even started talking about the government and politics. Why do we always do that?

We then head back down and went to the field at the back of the primary school. We had a race, which megg won. But I came second! We then spent about an hour on a kids roundabout thing making videos, in one I actually fall off and do a roll across the floor (Y).
Then we rolled down the smallest hill ever. As we walked back we came across some of the hugest houses ever. Megg videoed them untill a man looked evil at her! End of Sunday.:D

Then today....
Met Megg and Nessa at the cinema, where we went to see Angus, Thongs and (FULL FRONTAL!!!) Snogging. It was pretty good, but the acting was a bit meh. We all almost cried at the end when her dad turned up. Megg claimed Dave and I claimed Robbie, leaving Nessa with Tom...she wasn't happy! But me and Nessa sang along to the Stiff Dylans, which made her smile and Megg back away!
As the film finished, we dashed through the rain into town. It was then we saw the most lushest guys ever! We sorta copied the film then and decided to follow them round town. XD But we lost them and turns out they weren't English anyhoo.....woopsie!

That's it, that's the breaking point. The changing point. Right there.

Age becomes a worry to a majority of people at different parts of their lives. When your young, age doesn't matter. You don't need money, there's no huge turning point in your education or life. Nothing is depended on your age and to be honest, you couldn't care less about how old you are unless its a competition between your friends who's older because the oldest 'always goes first'. But then you get to 10 / 11. You really realise that you'll be leaving school soon. You'll be able to go see these 12A films without your parents soon. Suddenly there's a wish to be older and that wish doesn't go for a long time. They say it's the way teenagers are - always wanting something better, but when your 14 there's nothing you want more than to become 15 so you can see those 15-rated films that you weren't quite allowed to go to before. When you're 12 you want to be 13 so your mum can let you go up town on your own. On the bus! Shockers. You look up to people older than you and you wish your their age because they are prettier, more popular or alot more cooler.

But then that's it. You hit 16. You enter year 11 and suddenly you wish more than anything you were 13 again. There's our changing point. You live all your life wishing you were older and then you get to year 11. Your GCSE's are two weeks away. In a year's time you'll be driving, another 3 you'll be moving out and making your own way at university. Then you realise how old you are. You have responsibilities now. Heck, I know someone who's a year older than me that's engaged and expecting a baby. I know someone who's my age and expecting their second child. You suddenly start wishing that you were younger because you're not ready to be this old. You've spent your life feeling younger than you are and when it's time to grow up, it just comes too quickly. Sure there's still the slight nagging wish to be older. Soon I can get a job and get money, wahey- but then you realise you're old enough to get a job. In a few years you can legally drink and go clubbing, oooh yeah- but then doesn't that take the fun out of it? You won't have to do your GCSE's when your older- but what about A-Levels, Uni exams?

Any person over the age of 50 would read this and think, how ridiculous. You're not old at 16 'I'd do anything to be that age again.' So when will that feeling go ? That want to be younger? Will it go, or does it prove even more that we are old because we want to be younger. Being older is scary. Youth is the way to go. Now I'm not saying anyone at 16 isn't youthfull. Of course we are. No matter how many responsibilites we have we are young in comparison. But it doesn't stop us fearing it. It doesn't stop us fearing getting older because if we find life hard now, what will it be like when we do get older? Will the future ever get easier?

Only time can tell.

It's about growing old. Don't know why she thought I'd like it but oh well. It makes so much sense and I really agree with it!

Sure, over the years my heart has been broken.   How can your heart not break when you lose a loved  suffers, or one, or when a child even when somebody's beloved pet gets hit by a car?  But broken hearts are what give us strength and understanding and compassion.  A heart never broken is pristine and   sterile and will never know the joy of being imperfect.

...

I am so blessed to have lived long enough to have my hair turning gray, and to have my youthful laughs be forever etched into deep grooves on
my  face.  So many have never laughed, and so many have died before their hair could turn silver.

May 8th, 2008

For what must the fifth but deffinitely not final time I just finished reading Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Just like every other time I've read it it's been brilliant. I still squee and the good bits ( Ron and Hermione!) and laugh at the funny bits ('ear 'ear!). JK Rowling has made something amazing that will be hard to beat. Regretably I think I'm turning into Mrs Harding (my English teacher) and have really started to pay attention to the words and phrases used and the things that are in that book are just amazing. The quotes are brilliant and they same to make perfect sense but yet are so comlicated. Yes I love Harry Potter. Yes that was the main reason I got an account on here because of certain communities I've found through time. But it isn't just the story that makes me like those books, it's the writting. I've always liked reading but these books have actually made me enjoy literature. I've found a joy for finding clues in phrases to think deeper about what I'm reading. I don't enjoy a book anymore where I can't do that. Where I can't find clues. Where I can't put two-and-two together. That is why I like reading those books again and again and again, because I actually enjoy the literature.

But the story-lines are fun too.

La birthday de Nessa.

What a wicked weekend.
Got to the bowling alley walked in and was like woah! Where is everyone? Walked out in hope of buying some credit from town and then ringing someone when I bumped into Ash and Nessa round the corner of the bowling alley. It was quite hot tbh aswell! So anyhooo, we waited for Megg and James to turn up and when we did the five us went back into the bowling alley. We went up to the desk and Nessa handed over her cinema ticket with '2 games for £6' on the back to the really tall man. He was like "Sorry we don't have a lane free" so just as we were thinking greatttt so much for bowling he said "The next free lane won't be untill 2.40". We grudgingly booked it there and then and payed in full. So we decided we'd go into town. We into town and after getting ice creams we decided we wanted to go up the town park instead and headed up to the fair. We got to the fair when Nessa decided she wanted to go all the way back and put her jeans on! So on the way back me and Megg went on the big slide. It was slightly embarresing but stupidly fun! :D We then headed back to the fair. While Nessa, James and Megg went on the Denominator me and Ash stood back watching talking about how we hate carnival rides. Espesh as they just 'fold up'. Then they came of the ride wet, eventhough it was very dry and a boiling day. So we headed off to the Waltzer's then. It was hilarious and I swear my neck would like fall off. Ash got off and almost threw up. XD Wimp.  Weirdly it was time for bowling then so we headed back off. I lost both games and James won but we told him it was actually Golf and the person with the least points wins! :D. Some time before this we all got in a line and did 'the running man' to that Utah Saints song. Was tres amusent. But James wouldn't do because he's a loser. Then we said byes to Ash and James and went back to Nessa's where Sophii joined us and we completely pigged out. Then they spent about an hour prank calling people on the phone to some good friends. Hello Dave. I'm Dave. I'm Dave. I'm Dave Junior. Im Dave Junior Junior. And after that we shoved on 'A Cinderella Story' and almost fell asleep watching it so we decided to make our beds. As soon as we went to lie back down again we realised how awake we all were. So we started Bitching talikng :D. It was midnight at this point. Then Nessa's printer started making noises and we got really scared. So then conversation lead to ghosts, aliens, reincarnation, the afterlife and quite literally the universe and global warming. We went very political. Then we all had heart to hearts about random stuff and boyfriends. We ended up falling asleep at half 4 and woke up again 10. We all felt rough. If we had been drinking we'd have been hungover. But we didn't drink. Eventhough my family all thinks I did.

Was such a brilliant weekend. It was pretty damn fun!

School.

Are the exams really necessary, I mean, really?
Most young children aged 6/7 take their first set of tests, the SATs. Can someone please explain the point? What is it ... early practice? Early practice for the exams that 10/11 year olds take? Which, by the way, are just as pointless. They supposedly are to help secondary schools decide wether they  want to take certain students or not. But as a part of equal opportunities most schools will accept anybody and everybody. Only the prestige or more private schools take people based on their ability acedmically. However most thes schools have their own internal exams anyway so that goes back to my question what is the point? What is it?
Then at the age of 13/14, or in some schools only 12, while finally in secondary school kids have to take a third set of SAT's. What can these actualy do? Scare the kids to do death telling them that to date these are the most importnats they'll take, telling them that all the others are pointless so far. But matter of factly they jusn't aren't. I panicked majorly when I did mine, ashamed to say I came out in near tears from one. But for what? I'm now cramming for my GCSE's desperately trying to get coursework done that could of been done two years ago if I hadn't of had to do the SATs. So I now have the added worry of last pieces of coursework and revision for exams which start in a matter of days.
Some people may argue that it's experience. Kids can get used to the pressure of exams. But anyone who is taking or have taken their GCSE's can honestly say that they are nothing like the SATs. Can anyone truely remember or thank the exams they took when they 6 for their progress and ability today? If anyone can remember their SATs from when they are 13 they will notice that the English exam, for example, was reading and writting. 2 papers or maybe 3. For GCSE they are Language or Literature. 4 papers that are definately different to the SATs.
I'm still fighting to see the point in all those exams at such young ages. If anyone can really put up a good argument against it let me know. Because I really can't.
